Barbecue styles across the U.S. vary by region, with seven key types. Memphis is known for its dry rub, while North Carolina uses a spice, vinegar, and ketchup sauce. South Carolina prefers a sweet mustard and vinegar blend, and Kansas City features a molasses-tomato sauce cooked over hickory. Central Texas, influenced by German and Czech immigrants, uses pecan or oak wood. East Texas favors hot sauce, and Alabama has a unique white mayo-vinegar sauce.
